Outgoing Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on marking Father's Day in Ukraine, according to which Father's Day will be celebrated on the third Sunday of June.

The relevant decree of May 18 has been published on the president's official website.

It is noted the document has been signed to contribute to favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of the family as the foundation of society and increase the husband's status as a parent in the process of raising children.

The decree comes into force from the date of its publication.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 8, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed a draft presidential decree on marking Father's Day in Ukraine.
