"It should be noted we've been waiting for this for many years," he added.
According to Zolotukhin, Kruk is a well-known expert in the information industry, a panelist at all important conferences covering disinformation in past years. "She is a principled and honest person," he said.
"Whenever there's a possibility to make a change, I go for it. I joined @Facebook as a Public Policy manager for #Ukraine. It's a challenge, but also a great opportunity to do many good things," Kruk said on Twitter on June 3, while commenting on her appointment.
Media outlets say Facebook has never had a public policy manager for Ukraine. Plans to appoint such a manager were announced in October 2018.
