Tymoshenko does not rule out complicated situation with inflation
After budget-2008 is revised
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko does not rule out that the growth of social expenses after the budget is revised may complicate the situation with inflation in Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yulia Tymoshenko expressed this opinion at a meeting with diplomatic corps representatives, accredited in Ukraine.
“The government fears that the total revision of the budget-2008 may additionally increase social expenses, as a result of which the inflation rates will be reducing more slowly”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister admitted that the inflation level in Ukraine is still rather high. She stressed that the government, together with the National Bank and the Finance Ministry, is taking anti-inflation measures. In the opinion of Yulia Tymoshenko, the government expects to receive the first results of its activities late in March.
