Mother of a fugitive Ukrainian people's deputy Oleksandr Onyshchenko, Inessa Kadyrova, was arrested at the Boryspil International Airport on Friday, July 25.

The woman has been on a wanted list since 2016, according to the Special Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office.

"On July 25, 2019, an alleged member of the criminal organization engaged in the theft of natural gas produced under contracts on joint activities with PJSC Ukrgazdobuvannia, who had been hiding from the investigation and had been on wanted list in August 2016, was detained at the Boryspil Airport," reads the report.

According to the Ukrayinska Pravda, the detainee is Inessa Kadyrova, mother of fugitive MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko.

As noted, she is being charged with creating a criminal organization), committing a crime as part of a criminal organization), embezzlement by the abuse of official position, and legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime.

Now the NABU detectives under the procedural guidance of SAPO prosecutors filed a motion to the court to apply a preventive measure to the suspect.

NABU detectives in December 2015 began a pre-trial investigation of the theft of funds during the extraction and sale of gas under Ukrgazdobuvannia's joint ventures, as a result of which the state suffered losses amounting to about UAH 3 billion. The investigation found 29 people involved in the commission of crimes. Seven of them, in particular, the organizer of the scheme, MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko,have been put on wanted list.

The Verkhovna Rada deprived Onyshchenko of parliamentary immunity, and also voted for his detention and arrest.

But before that, using parliamentary immunity, he fled from Ukraine.
