Defense Ministry takes part in providing security of U.S. President
During his visit in Ukraine
The Defense Ministry has carried out a number of measures to provide the security of the visit of U.S. President George Bush in Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Defense Minister of Ukraine Yuri Yekhanurov claimed this to a news conference in Kyiv today, summing up the results of the Ministry’s activities over 100 days of its work.
“We are fulfilling a number of functions – most of all, they are connected with granting air corridors, and with enhanced combat readiness of our Air Force”, Yuri Yekhanurov said, adding that the most part of work falls on the State Guards Service.
According to the information of the Minister, a number of military helicopters was involved to ensure security of the U.S. President.
