The March of Defenders of Ukraine was held in Kyiv on August 24 on Ukraine's Independence Day.

March participants walked from Shevchenko Park along Shevchenko Boulevard and Khreshchatyk Street to Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence) Square where they held a performance in support of prisoners of war and sang the National Anthem of Ukraine, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

The march participants also honored the memory of the dead soldiers and volunteers with a moment of silence.
According to preliminary data of the organizers, over 15,000 people took part in the march.
