Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the SBU Security Service are conducting authorized searches at the premises of National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA:PBC).

"Investigative actions are being carried out as part of a pre-trial probe in criminal cases related to possible illegal actions by UA:PBC officials, namely, the abuse of official position to obtain undue benefits for themselves, other individuals or legal entities," the SBI wrote on Facebook on August 30.

"The searches are being carried out in line with all the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and in no way impede the work of the broadcaster," the Bureau added.

The searches are taking place at six locations, including the premises of UA:PBC Chairman Zurab Alasania.
