Germany this year is set to allocate EUR 1 million for the implementation of UN humanitarian projects in Ukraine, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine has told UNIAN.

As noted, thanks to the grant, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) will be able to continue implementing its humanitarian assistance projects for residents of eastern Ukraine who suffered as a result of the conflict on both sides of the demarcation line.

"Such measures include repairs and preparation for winter of damaged or destroyed houses and apartments in the conflict zone, social support of communities who have accepted internally displaced persons, improvement of infrastructure at the points of crossing on the demarcation line, and counseling victims of the conflict when solving administrative and legal issues," the statement says.
