The Customs Office from Biala Podlaska claims as many as 720 trucks may be stranded at the border and will wait for 36 hours each before crossing over to Ukraine.

The Customs Office Press Officer Marzena Siemieniuk has informed that the customs services on the Polish side are fully staffed and the delays are caused by the Ukrainian side.

“We can only clear as many vehicles as the Ukrainian services are capable of accepting, namely 200-240 vehicles per every 12 hour shift,” Siemieniuk has said.

The situation is also grave at the Polish-Ukrainian checkpoint in Hrebenne, where 200 drivers will have to wait for more than a day to complete the border crossing procedures.
