"Thus, the Patriarchate of Alexandria joined the churches recognizing the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The Alexandria Church in dyptichs ranks second after the Ecumenical Patriarchate," the archbishop emphasized.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on December 15, 2018, the Unification Council of Ukrainian Orthodox Churches elected Metropolitan Epifaniy primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

On January 6, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew handed Epifaniy a Tomos on granting autocephaly to the OCU.
