Operatives of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have detained 10 persons, including seven customs officials, over violations of customs law.

"NABU detectives, under the procedural leadership of the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office, have detained 10 persons on suspicion of committing crimes related to violation of customs law," NABU said.

At the moment, the actions committed by detainees are being qualified under Part 2 of Article 364 (abuse of power or official position), Part 3 of Article 212 (tax evasion, duties (mandatory payments)), and Part 1 of Article 255 (creation of a criminal organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The detainees have not yet been served suspicion notices.

Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all circumstances of the crime.

The NABU's press service refused to provide UNIAN any details to identify detainees.

Earlier today, deputy chief of Kyiv Customs Office Serhiy Tupalsky said his house was being searched.
