Ukraine's law enforcement officials are conducting investigative actions at a building in Kyiv that hosts the office of MP Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life Party and Russian President Vladimir Putin's major political operative in Ukraine.
That's according to RBC-Ukraine, citing Olena Gitlyanska, spokesperson for the SBU Security Service of Ukraine.
The SBU's Kyiv Department told UNIAN that the investigative actions were not being conducted at the office premises of any members of parliament, including Medvedchuk.
"This is not a search, it's other investigative actions," Gitlyanska told RBC-Ukraine earlier.
The SBU spokesperson later said the investigators have exposed the illegal activities of a private detective and security firm which had been selling illegally obtained communication intercepts. The firm's office is located at the building in question.
Charges have been pressed against one of the firm's co-founders.
