Moratorium on land sale in Ukraine to be cancelled this year

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko vows to persuade the Verkhovna Rada to cancel the moratorium on land sale this year.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this speaking at the V Assembly of the World Movement for Democracy on Monday.

The President disclosed that this year they plan to finish the process of land privatization. “I’m confident that I will persuade the Ukrainian parliament to wipe out the moratorium on land sale, to organize a land market in Ukraine”, the President claimed. He expressed a belief that this will allow to introduce new instruments and mechanisms of work with land, and will contribute to appearing a “new Ukrainian farmer”.
