The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine officially began work on January 2, 2020.

"To define January 2, 2020 as the day of the beginning of the work of the Office of the Prosecutor General," according to order No. 351 issued by Prosecutor General Ruslan Riaboshapka on December 23 and published in the parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a law on the reform of prosecution bodies came into force on September 25, 2019, which provides for the establishment of the Office of the Prosecutor General instead of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
