Ukraine's HACC extends preventive measure against "godfather of smuggling" Alperin

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) of Ukraine has extended the preventive measure against businessman from Odesa Vadym Alperin, who is dubbed a "godfather of smuggling."

"The suspect, as before, is obliged to wear an ankle monitor until March 23 and abide by his commitments," the court's press service said.

The businessman is suspected of organizing a criminal scheme related to the customs clearance of goods imported into Ukraine at low prices. His actions are qualified under Part 1 of Article 255, Part 3 of Article 212, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
