The State Migration Service of Ukraine has issued over 4.3 million ID cards to Ukrainians in four years.

"Biometric documents have many advantages today, they will be just irreplaceable in the modern world of digital technology and electronic services over time," the press service of Ukraine's Interior Ministry wrote on Facebook.

As of today, each holder of a passport of the year 1994 design may exchange it for a new ID card. Moreover, every citizen of Ukraine who has reached the age of 14 may apply for an ID card.

It is noted about 280,000 ID cards were issued in 2016, over 1.1 million in 2017, over 1.3 million in 2018, and almost 1.6 million in 2019.
