The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine says it recommends that higher education institutions organize distance learning for students from China and Southeast Asia who are currently beyond Ukraine or unable to come to the country due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The relevant letter will be sent to all higher educational institutions on Monday, February 3, 2020, the ministry's press service said on Sunday.

"Our goal is to ensure continued studies and at the same time to take into account as much as possible all circumstances related to the situation around the coronavirus (2019-nCoV)," the press service quoted Minister of Education and Science Hanna Novosad as saying.

The ministry tasked the higher education institutions, before February 10, 2020, to inform all their students from China and Southeast Asia about the possibility of distance learning, as well as provide them with the opportunity to pass the exams after the coronavirus situation is normalized.

As UNIAN reported earlier, two Ukrainian research teams are working on creating a coronavirus test, which is expected to be ready in 10-14 days.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk earlier said Ukraine had prepared for the outbreak and spread of coronavirus in the country.
