Some 251 towns and villages in Ukraine's seven regions have reported power cuts after the safety system was activated amid the bad weather, namely precipitation and strong winds.

In particular, the electricity supply was disrupted in 70 towns and villages in Lviv region, 69 in Ivano-Frankivsk region, 65 in Ternopil region, 23 in Volyn region, 12 in Chernivtsi region, 11 in Zhytomyr region, and one in Rivne region, the State Emergency Service's press service has said.
Regional energy distribution companies deployed their repair teams to eliminate the aftermath of the blackouts.
Weather conditions in Ukraine are expected to deteriorate on February 24, a storm warning has been issued.
