Some 504 towns and villages in Ukraine's 12 regions have reported power cuts after the safety system was activated amid the bad weather, namely precipitation and strong winds.

In particular, the electricity supply was disrupted in 147 towns and villages in Mykolaiv region, 124 in Odesa region, 69 in Dnipropetrovsk region, 52 in Kherson region, 41 in Zaporizhia region, 25 in Donetsk region, 11 in Poltava region and Vinnytsia region each, eight in Sumy region and Kirovohrad region each, five in Cherkasy region, and three in Luhansk region, the State Emergency Service's press service has said.
Regional energy distribution companies deployed their repair teams to eliminate the aftermath of the blackouts.
Strong winds are expected in Ukraine on February 25, a storm warning has been issued.
