Ukraine's border service receives new vehicles and equipment donated by the European Union (Video)

A total of 193 trucks and vans worth over $8 million along with 142 night vision kits and some protected laptops have been provided to Ukrainian border guards by the EU to contribute to the government’s efforts to regain effective control over the Ukrainian-Russian border.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Jan Tombinski, inspected the newly painted vehicles and other equipment which, according to Ukraine’s prime minister, will bring the country closer to controlling its borders against Russian aggression, Ukraine Today reports.

Earlier last year, the Ukrainian government started the construction of its European Wall project, aimed at building a physical barrier on the border to halt illegal supplies of weapons, drugs and also illegal migration.
