Eight suspected coronavirus cases in Ukraine have negative test results
Ukraine's Health Ministry has updated its earlier report on eight recoveries from the novel coronavirus as of March 22, saying that those were suspected cases that had tested negative.
"Those were eight COVID-19 suspected cases. To get the final results, they had two repeat tests for COVID-19, which were negative. Those people had no coronavirus infection," the ministry's Public Health Center said on Sunday, March 22.
Most of patients with coronavirus have influenza-like symptoms. In fact, this is severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by a previously unknown pathogen.
The Public Health Center says that over 200,000 cases of acute respiratory syndrome and the common flu are registered in Ukraine every week.
As of 10:00 Kyiv time on March 22, there had been 47 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine, including three deaths and one recovery.
