Number of deaths from coronavirus in Ukraine rises to 17

The number of deaths from the novel coronavirus in Ukraine has risen to 17 cases.

"According to the Public Health Center, as of 22:00 Kyiv time on March 31, there were 645 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 identified with the use of PCR [polymerase chain reaction] in Ukraine," the country's Health Ministry said in an evening update on Facebook on March 31. "A total of 17 deaths from COVID-19 have already been registered in Ukraine."

Ten patients have recovered so far, their repeat tests have been negative, the ministry said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 548 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 13 deaths, in Ukraine as of the evening on Monday, March 30.
