Number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Ukraine nearing 900 by Thursday evening

The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ukraine had risen to 897 by Thursday evening.

"According to the Public Health Center, there were 897 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 identified with the use of PCR [polymerase chain reaction] in Ukraine as of 22:00 Kyiv time on April 2," Ukraine's Health Ministry said on Facebook in its evening update on April 2.

Twenty-two COVID-19 deaths have already been reported in the country.

Nineteen patients have recovered, their repeat tests have been negative, the ministry said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 794 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine on Wednesday evening.
