The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Ukraine was 5,106 on Saturday morning.

"According to the Public Health Center, there were to 5,106 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 Kyiv time on April 18," Ukraine's Health Ministry said on Facebook in its morning update on April 18.

Of them, 444 cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

Now the novel coronavirus was recorded in the following regions: 319 cases in Vinnytsia region; 134 in Volyn region; 104 in Dnipropetrovsk region; 14 in Donetsk region; 197 in Zhytomyr region; 166 in Zakarpattia region; 127 in Zaporizhia region; 462 in Ivano-Frankivsk region; 234 in Kirovohrad region; 770 in the city of Kyiv; 280 in Kyiv region; 221 in Lviv region; nine cases in Luhansk region; 31 in Mykolayiv region; 106 in Odesa region; 49 in Poltava region; 283 in Rivne region; 82 in Sumy region; 366 in Ternopil region; 62 in Kharkiv region, 56 in Kherson region; 41 in Khmelnytsky region; 840 in Chernivtsi region; 141 in Cherkasy region; 12 in Chernihiv region.

Data from Russia-occupied areas – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions – is not available.

The tests were conducted with the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the Public Health Center's virological reference laboratory and regional laboratories.

As of the morning of April 18, 2020, the Center had received 1,189 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. In total, there have been 16,637 reports on suspected COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020.

A total of 133 COVID-19 deaths have already been recorded in the country. Some 275 patients have recovered.
