There were 261 new confirmed cases of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus in the past day as of Monday morning, which was 82 cases down compared to Sunday morning.

"There were 5,710 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:30 Kyiv time on April 20," Ukraine's Health Ministry said on Facebook in its morning update on Monday, April 20. "Some 261 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours."

Of the new cases, there were 43 doctors, Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing on Monday. The new cases include 16 children.

Seventy-eight new patients have been hospitalized.

The total death toll as of April 20 was 151 cases; 359 patients have recovered.

There is no official information from Russia-occupied areas – the Crimean peninsula, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, as of 09:00 Kyiv time on April 19, there were 5,449 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 343 new cases. The overall death toll was 141.
