Ukraine to reduce number of controlling agencies on border
As a part of reform of the State Border Service of Ukraine, as well as the state border crossing procedure, Ukraine intends to reduce the number of controlling bodies at checkpoints from nine to two, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said during the presentation of a new biometric data control system at Boryspil International Airport, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
According to Yatsenyuk, only the representatives of the State Border Guard Service and State Fiscal Service of Ukraine will be tasked with carrying out border control procedures.

Nine different types of controls exist at the border, which is unacceptable," Yatsenyuk said. "The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is changing its border management system. Only two of the nine agencies will be left at the border - border guards and customs officers. This will facilitate movement of citizens [across the border]; and with fewer agencies there will be less corruption," the prime minister said.
