Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko states that the investigation has not established that Akhmetov has ever been involved in criminal actions.
The Minister claimed this in an interview with Ostrov web-site, during his visit to Donetsk.
“At this moment, I may confirm the formula that the criminal cases, in which Mr.Akhmetov was mentioned as a figurant, did not receive any confirmation of his guilt. His connection with committing crimes was not established during interrogations of him, as well as of other people”, the Minister said.
In the opinion of Lutsenko, “probably, many questions lay in the economical sphere, in the sphere of taxation and legalization of his quick enrichment sources”. “But this is beyond the sphere of police’s authorities”, the Interior Minister stressed.
Besides, speaking about “strange deaths of numerous owners of Donetsk enterprises, which were later transferred to other hands”, Yuri Lutsenko noted that “at the current moment, no proofs of guilt of the current owners were found”. The Minister added that “the matter concerns not only Mr.Akhmetov, but also other people”.
