Ukraine increases natural gas transit to Europe by 30%

During January-April, Ukrtransgas subsidiary of Naftohaz Ukrayiny NJSC increased natural gas transit to European countries by 29.9%, or 10.4 billion cubic meters, compared to the same period of the year 2007, up to 45.1 billion cu m. This is the biggest showing over the whole history of the Ukrainian gas-transport system.

According to Naftohaz Ukrayiny press-service, the natural gas transit volumes to the CIS countries reduced by 14% during January-April of 2008, compared to the same period of the year 2007, and made up 1.2 billion cu m.

Natural gas supplies to Ukrainian consumers increased by 5% during January-April of 2008, compared to the same period of the year 2007, and made up 26.3 billion cubic meters.
