On the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of Victory in the Second World war President Victor Yushchenko put wreaths near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kyiv Park of Glory.

Other participants of the ceremony were Verkhovna Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Ministers of the Cabinet, deputies, state officials, veterans, etc.

Those present also honored war victims with a moment of silence.

In Kyiv Museum of the Great patriotic war President Victor Yushchenko congratulated veterans and whole Ukrainian nation with 63rd anniversary of winning Victory in the Great Patriotic war.

In honor of the lost the Flames of Glory were light, cannon salute fired and nationwide moment of silence observed.

“This day is a festive day for all of us. Today we celebrate a great victory of the Ukrainian nation, which together with other nations, in internecine battle has saved the world from fascist gloom… On behalf of all Ukrainians I say a word of gratitude to representatives of all nations, who has been bringing near our common triumph at all frontiers of the war”, - said Victor Yushchenko in his speech before those present.
