President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is confident that the Ukrainian armed forces possess relevant military skills and fortitude to protect their land from invaders.

Such statement the President made while attending the opening of the exhibition of military equipment entitled "Unconquered Strength" in Kyiv, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

"We do not need foreign troops. The Ukrainian people have sufficient military capabilities and fortitude to protect their land from the invaders. But we are grateful for defensive non-lethal weapons that we are finally receiving now," Poroshenko said.

The President noted that the exhibition, in particular, features military equipment produced whether by domestic or other companies.

"Today, at this exhibition you can see samples of military equipment produced not only by Ukraine. There is the equipment supplied to us by our allies and partners," the head of state said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine is celebrating Defenders of the Fatherland Day for the first time today, October 14.
