SBU detains DPR sniper who fired on OSCE
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained a sniper of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) terrorist organization in the town of Rubizhne in Luhansk region, who reportedly fired on OSCE monitors, according to the SBU's official website.
"The militant whose nom de guerre is Kent arrived at the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donbas to 'visit his friends.' He joined the DPR's illegal armed groups in July 2014, after he had been released from prison," the SBU said on Thursday, October 22.
According to the report, the man was trained under the guidance of Russian special forces and was enrolled in a terrorist group as a sniper. "Kent" was actively involved in the fighting and shelling of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and commanders of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas.
