The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft Labour Code of Ukraine in the first reading.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, 386 out of 448 parliament members registered in the hall voted “for”.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted before the voting that current Labour Laws Code of Ukraine had been adopted as early as in 1971, that is why today “we can not live in accordance with it”.

He noted that associations of employers and employees should be involved in preparing of the draft Labour Code to the second reading.
