President meets delegates from Constantinople Patriarchate

President Victor Yushchenko received a delegation from Constantinople Patriarchate, according to the President`s press-office.

      At the meeting President expressed gratitude to delegates for the Patriarchate putting efforts in consolidation of the Orthodox Church branches. “Both Ukrainian community of the faithful and the state believe that we should be moving towards understanding between churches”, - said Victor Yushchenko.

      From their part the representatives of Constantinople Patriarchate thanked for the opportunity to learn about expectancies and wishes of the orthodox churches of Ukraine, as well as appreciation of President Yushchenko’s personal efforts as an official in the process of consolidation.
