Ukraine to batch light oil in Odesa-Brody pipeline
Ukraine is planning to conduct an experimental delivery of oil
Ukraine is planning to conduct an experimental delivery of 40,000 tons of light, domestic oil along the Odesa-Brody pipeline, then via Slovakia to the refinery at Kralupy in the Czech Republic, according to Oil&Gas Journal.
The experiment will help specify some "technological and economic parameters of the batching or "separate pumping" in one pipe of different brands of oil, with their specificities preserved," according to Bohdan Sokolovskyi, a Ukrainian government spokesman.
Sokolovsky said a contract was drafted for delivering a trial bath of 40,000 tons of light oil of Ukrainian origin in "the near future."
Last week, Oleh Dubyna, chairman of state oil and gas company Naftohaz Ukrayiny, said the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline would start carrying light oil in its originally-planned direction from the Caspian Sea toward Europe this summer
