Areas under wheat increased by 14% in 2008 – Tymoshenko

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko positively assesses the sowing campaign in Ukraine. According to her, areas under wheat increased by more than 14% in 2008, compared to the previous year.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, she claimed this at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers today.

“It means we will not simply have bread, we will have a very good harvest”, Yulia Tymoshenko noted.

As UNIAN reported earlier, as for May 20, grain and grain legumes crops in Ukraine were sown at the area of 7.14 mln ha or 95% from the plan.
