According to him there are two objectives of these changes

At today’s National Security and Defense Council Meeting, President Victor Yushchenko urged the Government to introduce changes to 2008 budget, according to the President`s press-office.

According to him there are two objectives these changes should pursue. First of all subsistence wages should be increased to overcome gap between inflation rates and incomes of the most vulnerable strata.

The second aim should be increase of state support to agricultural sector. “We must urgently revise policy of state support to agriculture within the framework of the budget; cancel limitations on grain and seeds-oil trade; stop tax-free sugar and meat imports”, - said Victor Yushchenko explaining that these measures harm national producers.
