To probe into the shadow privatization of the plant
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko intends to initiate a session of the NSDC for consideration of the issue on shadow privatization of the Arsenal Plant. She disclosed this during her meeting with the collective of the plant, according to the government’s press-office.
According to the Prime Minister, in the nearest future the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will make a request to the Office of Public Prosecutor to speed up consideration of the case connected with the Arsenal Plant. If the Office of Public Prosecutor fails to respond, I will initiate a session of the NSDC for consideration of this issue,” Yulia Tymoshenko stated.
Besides, she expressed concern over the absence of reaction from the SSU and SPF to negative tendencies which take place around their plant, in particular, concerning illegal lease of objects and lands of the enterprise: “We have succeeded to preserve the plant during the war and today we are losing it”. At that Yulia Tymoshenko added that the Government would spare no effort to make the plant resume its facility. In particular, the Prime Minister promised to provide in amendments to the 2008 State Budget funds for implementation of two programs on enterprise’s development.
According to Yulia Tymoshenko, “intellectual potential of the plant is of great importance both for the state and the world”.
The PM also added that today thousands of the Ukrainian enterprises are unlawfully privatized and plundered under the direction of the State Property Fund. According to her, it is impossible to stop this shameful situation without changing the SPF leadership but the Government is trying to do it.
