Grain export likely to make 10 million tons this season

This year the grain export may make up 10 million tons. Ukrainian Agricultural Confederation chairman Leonid Kozachenko disclosed this to “Delo” daily today.

      “Considering the current forecasts of this year’s harvest, it is absolutely real to expect the volume of grain export at the level of 10 million tons of production”, he said.

      The UAC president specified that it is less than in the previous season, when a record volume of grain was exported – 13 million tons.

      “This had never happened before during all the 15 years of the Ukrainian independence. Farmers received 1.5 billion dollars from the export at that time. There will be no such opportunity this season, but, nevertheless, the export may still be rather significant”.
