A session of the Inter-Departmental Commission on organization of the conclusion and signing of agreements on production distribution chaired by First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov was held, according to the government’s press-office.
Considering the issue on a single subsoil use principle, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that it is necessary to introduce an efficient and transparent principle of developing strategic resources of the state reasoning from the priority of national interest and energy security of Ukraine as well as economic and ecological consequences of subsoil use.
As a result of the discussion the Ministry for Environmental Protection, Ministry of Economy, Finance Ministry are commissioned to submit for the next Commission’s session proposals on introducing balanced and state approach to the principle of developing shelf of the Black Sea and Azov Sea.
The Commission has also confirmed the Environmental Protection Ministry’s competence for canceling special permission for subsoil use within the Trans-Kerch area issued by the previous Government to Vanco Trans-Kerch Ltd offshore company.
“In spite of pressure exerted upon the Government, including the assistance of unscrupulous representatives of the Office of Prosecutor General, shelves of the Black Sea and Azov Sea will remain under state control,” Oleksandr Turchynov stated commenting upon the Commission’s decision.
The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine highlighted that “the Government will not tolerate implementation of schemes plotted by corrupt officials concerning misappropriation of strategic resources of the state which belong to our descendants”.
