President requests more attention to commemorating Holodomor
Yushchenko urged executive power to stir up work on projects
In Kirovohrad President Victor Yushchenko took part in a third meeting of Coordinative Board on commemoration of 75th anniversary of Holodomor, according to the President`s press-office.
At the meeting President urged executive power to stir up work on projects within the scope of 75th anniversary of the Great Famine commemoration. He also expressed pity that the authorities are putting so little effort in that direction.
President Yushchenko also informed that he expects a report from Vice Prime Minister Ivan Vasyunyk summarizing Government`s activities in response to President`s Decree «On announcing in Ukraine 2008, the Year of Commemoration of Holodomor Victims».
Before the meeting President Yushchenko took a tour of the exhibition of young artists dedicated to the Great Famine. Besides he was shown printed materials issued in all regions of Ukraine in response to President`s Decree.
