Tymoshenko forecasts grain harvest to double in 2008

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko expects that the grain harvest in the country will double in 2008 compared with the previous year.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, she said this at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers today.

“According to calculations of all specialists, the grain harvest can double compared with the last year”, said Yu.Tymoshenko.

She underlined that she does not know any other governments, which “would bring such results to the country” for the last 17 years.

UNIAN’s note. The grain harvest in Ukraine in 2007 made up 29 million tons; this is by 15% less than in 2006.
