Yushchenko proposed Medvedev to hold gas talks in new format - Ambassador
Between Gazprom, Naftohaz and Asian countries representatives
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko proposed Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev to hold gas talks in a trilateral format – Gazprom, Naftohaz, and representatives of Asian companies.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, new Ukraine’s Ambassador to RF Kostyantyn Hryshchenko claimed this to a news conference today.
In particular, K.Hryshchenko informed that, during the meeting of the two Presidents in St. Petersburg, Victor Yushchenko made proposal to hold talks on gas issues in this format.
“This issue is being worked over, but, I think, it is one of those real opportunities, if all elements of our political structures work efficiently”, K.Hryshchenko said.
Speaking about the gas talks between Ukraine and Russia, K.Hryshchenko said it is an extremely complicated sphere.
“It is difficult because, on one hand, any state wants to have the cheapest gas, and, on the other – without coming to market relations, we will never achieve the level of energy saving that everybody of us wants”, the Ambassador stressed.
