Polish sports minister Miroslaw Drzewiecki is not surprised to hear that Ukraine is lagging behind in preparations for Euro 2012, which it is to host together with Poland, according to Polish Radio External Service.

UEFA President Michel Platini said in the Ukrainian capital Kiev that he was not satisfied with the state of preparations.

Drzewiecki has told Polish Radio One that Poland and Ukraine will do their best to be properly prepared for the championships.

He recalled that Poland’s efforts were given good marks by Platini. Poland hopes that Euro 2012 will bring Ukraine closer to Europe not only in the area of sports but also in the political dimension.
