The natural gas price for Ukraine in 2009 will be determined after Gazprom holds talks with Middle Asia gas producers.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this today at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers, commenting on results of her yesterday meeting with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.
“I believe, in the nearest future, Gazprom will finish talks with Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, and, after that we will be able to finally form the natural gas price basing on the concept that we formulated yesterday”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
She pointed out that Ukraine and Russia found a compromise and common approaches to the concept of the price of natural gas supplied by Gazprom to Ukraine.
“We chose the price calculation model, understood the concept and philosophy of the price formation. I may admit that we found a compromise on the concept of forming the price for the next year”, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
The Prime Minister confirmed that her agreements with Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin, that the gas prices for Ukraine will grow to the market level gradually, remain valid.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller paid a visit in Ukraine on July 22. He met with Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and Naftophaz Ukrayiny CEO Oleh Dubyna.
