Naftohaz plans to buy 14.5-15 billion cubic meters of gas - Tymoshenko
For pumping into its storage facilities
Naftohaz Ukrayiny NJSC is planning to increase the volume of gas in its storage facilities to 14.5-15 billion cubic meters.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this today at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers, commenting on results of her yesterday meeting with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.
According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine has already pumped 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas into its storage facilities at the price of the current year.
"Taking into account our agreements of yesterday [with Gazprom - UNIAN], we may have 14.5-15 billion cubic meters of gas belonging to Naftogaz Ukrainy by the end of the pumping period," Yulia Tymoshenko said during the opening of a government meeting on Wednesday.
Tymoshenko said that this would help maintain current gas prices into the autumn and winter season.
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the information of Naftohaz Ukrayiny press-center, at least 55 billion cubic meters of Central Asian gas at the price of $179.50 per 1,000 cubic meters will be supplied to Ukraine in 2008. Naftogaz Ukrainy is currently purchasing gas at the Ukrainian-Russian border.
