Tymoshenko expects Verkhovna Rada to introduce amendments into state budget
"If our MPs are really state figures, we must adopt amendments..."
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko expects the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will introduce amendments into the state budget-2008 at its extraordinary session on Thursday. The amendments are necessary to allocate financing for liquidating consequences of the natural disaster in western regions of Ukraine.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the Prime Minister claimed this to a government’s session today.
“I believe the lawmakers, who will arrive to take part in the session on Thursday, understand that budget amendments are expected by everybody – by people who are overcoming the natural disaster consequences, as well as by agricultural sphere workers, teachers, and doctors. If our MPs are really state figures, we must adopt amendments to the state budget, including that aimed for overcoming the natural disaster consequences, as top-priority”, Yulia Tymoshenko said.
The Prime Minister also claimed that the government has sent its draft law on introducing amendments into the state budget for consideration of President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, and asked to recognize it as urgent.
