A landslide, which began as a result of floods on July 29, continues in Chornohuzy village of the Vyzhnytskiy district of the Chernivtsi Oblast.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, so far people cannot stop it. According to the information of the local headquarters for liquidation of natural disaster consequences, the landslide zone includes more than 8 hectares of territory. As of July 31, there are no victims, but the landslide has ruined 22 houses, and another 85 houses are under threat of being ruined, because the landslide is moving forward. The local gas network and electric mains were destroyed.

More than 50 machineries, Emergency Ministry employees from different Oblasts of Ukraine, are working in the landslide zone. Meanwhile, local residents are being evacuated. Local authorities made decision to pay victims 5 thousand hryvnias [~US $1050] of first aid.

According to Chernivtsi Oblast governor Volodymyr Kulish, who visited the landslide zone, all people will be re-settled from the area, “because it is impossible to live there any more”. People will be proposed to choose among new allotments in the Oblast. They will also be provided with materials for building.
