By the end of 2006 gas price to Ukraine won’t exceed 95 USD per thousand cubic meters. Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told journalists in Sochi, according to the press-service of the Cabinet o Ministers of Ukraine. “This year the gas price won’t exceed 95 USD, as concerns the next year, it will depend on the market”, he said. At the same time, the Head of Government doesn’t rule out that the gas price for Ukraine may even be lower in 2006.
Speaking about price parameters for 2007, Viktor Yanukovych noted that the gas prices for 2007 would become known in November-December. At that, Prime Minister noted that probable gas prices for 2007 may amount between 150 and 230 USD per thousand cubic meters. “But we believe there will be no abrupt gas price hikes. During the negotiations I didn`t feel like our partners mean to aggravate the situation”, Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
Viktor Yanukovych pointed out that in the relations with the Russian counterparts the Ukrainian Government would always aim at timely and transparent problem-solving including the gas sphere.
