As of August 11, 2008, the Oshchadbank (the Savings Bank of Ukraine) has paid 27 million 217 thousand hryvnias to victims of floods in the Western Ukraine.

According to the bank’s press-office, in particular, Oshchadbank branches paid out 1 million 219 thousand hryvnias of remuneration to floods victims in the Vinnytsia Oblast, 1 million 417 thousand 500 hryvnias – in Zakarpattya Oblast, 15 million 821 thousand hryvnias – in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, 5 million 840 thousand hryvnias – in the Lviv Oblast, 1 million 083 thousand 500 hryvnias in the Ternopil Oblast, and 1 million 836 thousand hryvnias in the Chernivtsi Oblast.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in line with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 28 July 2008, #1008-r, and government’s decrees #689 and #707 of August 2 and August 6 respectively, Oshchadbank branches pay state remuneration to victims of the flood in six western regions of Ukraine.
