Ukrainian diplomats and their family members are being evacuated from Georgia to Yerevan (the capital of Armenia), where they will take a plane and travel to Ukraine.
TV 5 Kanal informs about it referring to Kostyantyn Yeliseyev, deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine and special envoy of the Ukrainian President to Georgia.
K.Yeliseyev explains the complicated way of the evacuation with a comfortable transport communication on this route.
At the same, the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the battle area continues.
“A Ukrainian plane with 31 citizens of Ukraine on board landed in Kyiv at 2 a.m.. The majority of passengers were women with children. These citizens of Ukraine were evacuated mostly from different towns around the South Ossetia”, K.Yeliseyev informed.
According to him, at present 150 Ukrainian citizens willing to evacuate stay in the Batumi district, and more than 200 – in the Tbilisi district of Georgia.
K.Yeliseyev stressed that the Embassy of Ukraine to Georgia maintains contacts with the Ukrainian citizens.
